Games now routinely involve many players signing in and playing together in teams or as individuals, with or against other players (Massive Multiplayer Online Games or MMOs). When they first appeared, they were simple, and usually played against the computer. I’m not going to consider computer games, that is, games designed specifically for the computer.
Let’s consider some definitions and get a manageable scope. However, technology is there to help us out and it’s possible to play games online.
