It is way better to save first, just in case. However, some scripts perform a lot of changes under the hood, so you might find yourself having to “undo” hundreds of times. The changes made by the scripts are usually reversible using the Undo function (Cmd/Ctrl + Z). It might happen that the result of the script is not what you wanted, or that the script fails in some way.
